Headless Women Route

What does it mean to lose one's head? And one's mind? The Headless Women Route invites you to learn about the influence the School of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, and its ancestors, had on The Public Art of the city of Porto and to learn about the education of women artists in Europe. This Route is also an invitation to get to know the historical neighborhood of Bonfim under a less common light.

Women and Monuments Route

From Justice to Pain: how do women take part on Porto's Public Art? The Women and Monuments Route invites you to think how frequently sculptors use the shapes and fragments of women's bodies to represent a variety of archetypes. The tour also reflects on the low participation of women artists on the political and social processes of paying tributes and homages of historical narratives and individuals.

Public and Art Route

Why is Public Art important? This route calls for the debate on the concept and the roles of Public Art: For whom? By whom? About whom? Where? The tour offers an opportunity to discuss the values it can hold in the public sphere of a city and it also reflects on the small number of hommages payed to women through monuments and sculptures.
